Manitowoc Factory 2009
The first crawler crane, a model 2000 "Speedcrane", was shipped from
the Manitowoc Cranes factory in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1925. Since
then, the name Manitowoc has grown to symbolize crawler cranes and
their distinctive red color can be seen on projects around the world.
Factory
The 92 acre manufacturing facility includes 3 main buildings that house a
total of 575,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Manitowoc's
medium and large crawler crane products are produced at this facility and
include the 1015, 777, 999, 14000, 2250, 16000, 18000, 21000 and the
new flagship 31000. Jibs, luffing jibs and various crane attachments are
also produced at this location.

Test Yard
After manufacturing, the cranes crawl out to the 20 acre test yard and
are fully rigged put through their paces prior to delivery.

Shipping
After testing the cranes pass through final painting and are then brought
out to shipping for transport to customers worldwide.

Product Line Review
Manitowoc held a factory tour and product line review at it's factory in
Manitowoc, Wisconsin for Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association
(SC&RA) members and special invited guests. Once there you were
treated to unique equipment and service displays with hospitality that was
second to none. The highlight of the event was the first public showing
of the new flagship of the crawler crane product line, the 2,535 ton
capacity 31000.
