Interstate 35W Bridge
Shortly after 6 in the evening on August 1, 2007, bridge 9340 collapsed
in Minneapolis, Minnesota killing 13 and injuring 145. Built in 1964, it had
8 spans, was 1,907 feet long, 113 feet wide and was opened to traffic in
1967. The total cost of the project was $5.3 million.
Carl Bolander and Sons was awarded the $15 million demolition and debris
removal contract.
