Caterpillar
When the Holt Manufacturing Company and C.L. Best Tractor Company
merged in 1925, Caterpillar Tractor Company was officially formed.
Shortly after that, in 1931, the world’s first production diesel-powered
tractor was released in the familiar "highway yellow" paint. Today
Caterpillar is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining
equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines.
The product line continues to expand to meet a variety of customer
needs and currently stands at more than 300 products.
