Anoka Wind Turbine
5 member cities of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA), are
erecting wind turbines to meet a state requirement that most utilities
provide at least 12 percent of their electricity sales from renewable
resources by 2012. Anoka, Minnesota installed one of the $300,000
refurbished wind turbines, originally located in Palm Springs, California.
The 115 foot tall, 160 kilowatt turbine will generate enough electricity for
100 homes in the city.
Henkels and McCoy completed the installation with lifting assistance from
Vic's Crane and Heavy Haul.
