Highway 61




8 miles of Highway 61 from Saint Paul Park, through Cottage Grove to
Highway 10 in Denmark Township, Minnesota is being resurfaced in 4
phases.  The resurfacing project will overlay the existing concrete
roadway with two inches of asphalt and seven inches of concrete. This
process improves road and ride quality as well as extending the life of the
roadway by decades.  Other Highway 61 improvements being completed
during the project will be reducing median crossovers, adding additional
turn lanes, extending cable median barriers and revising the entrance
ramps from Innovation Road.

PCI Roads, headquartered in Saint Michael, Minnesota, received the $16
million contract.
