Interstate 494: Phase Two




Phase 2 of the Interstate 494 reconstruction project was done by
C.S. McCrossan/Granite. The 2 year, $135.6 million design build contract
included reconstructing and widening 8 miles of Interstate 494, removing
and replacing 14 bridges, rebuilding 2 interchanges and installing 4 miles
of sound walls. Phase 2 of the project was completed in September of
2006. As a side note, in 2005 the project was named Roads & Bridges “2005
