MinnCan Pipeline
The MinnCan Project is a 304 mile pipeline that begins in Clearbrook,
Minnesota and transports crude oil produced in Canada to 2 Twin Cities
refineries where the oil is refined into products such as gasoline, diesel fuel,
jet fuel, and heating oil. MinnCan was constructed in 3 phases with phase
1 begining in August 2007. The pipeline is scheduled to be operational in
late 2008.
The crews advanced an average of one mile per day. Once the clearing
crew arrived at an area the site preparation, 24 inch pipe laying process
and backfill was completed and the land was returned to it's original state
in about 6 weeks.
Henkels and McCoy was awarded the $300 million contract.
