Walker Art Center
Rocket Crane Service was hired by the Walker Art Center to remove the
1,700 pound cherry from the "Spoonbridge and Cherry" fountain and
sculpture for refurbishing. The "Spoonbridge and Cherry" is the focal
point of the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden and has been a signature
image for the Twin Cities since 1988. The cherry has been repainted 3
times, with 11 coats of paint, but this is the first time since its assembly
that the cherry has been removed from the spoon.
